So, this last week I had the opportunity to speak and attend at the SQLbits conference. This was high on my list after attending an Oracle event last year where even attendees and organizers there mentioned that they admired the conference and the way that it was run. I fully admit to running the full gambit of either hyper-aware or completely oblivious and with SQLBits, I’d been a bit of the latter and I wanted to change that. Now I want to preface this post with saying that I refer to this month as “March madness” and that means that…

After a flurry of release announcements at MSIgnite this week, it was time to talk about the technology at a deeper level at PASS Summit. I love this event, which has my undying loyalty due to the sheer amount of technical focus on everything in the Microsoft data platform and of course, was not disappointed with the first day keynote on Wednesday! We started out with a great treat of information before the keynote, just so we were prepared for what was to come in the next couple days…plus bacon! Grant Says Grant Fritchey started the keynote by welcoming all…

So Training Days is coming up in two weeks. You haven’t registered to attend? How you feeling about that? Rocky Mountain Oracle User Group, (RMOUG) has the largest Oracle user group grassroots conference each February. So this week I’m back on the other coast, Raleigh, NC at ECO17 after last week in Seattle. I’ve switched from SQL Server to Oracle and we won’t discuss how many times I had to correct myself as I said, “transaction log” instead of “archive log” and pointed west instead of east for the ocean…My expression at times was similar to Obi Wan’s- For the next month, I’ll be sticking to the Oracle side, as this is going to be a crazy month for travel. My two sessions at ECO this week were well attended and I really enjoyed talking…

Here’s a quick guide to my schedule of sessions at IOUG Collaborate 2015 for this year. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone next week, (I’ll be arriving on Saturday, so I really should say in a couple days) and have no doubt we’re up for another phenomenal conference at Las Vegas, this year at the Mandalay! Additionally, there are some great opportunities in professional development at the IOUG Strategic Leadership Program. I’ll be speaking with James Lui on how to improve your value with personal brands and social media. I’m the WIT luncheon speaker on Monday, so for those of you that…
